The World tarot card is the last card of the Major Arcana. You’ve reached the end of one journey and are ready to begin another.

Traditionally, The World card shows a naked woman wrapped in a banner and holding two double-ended candles. She floats in the center of a wreath surrounded by heads of the fixed signs of the zodiac – a bull for Taurus, a lion for Leo, an eagle for Scorpio, and a water-bearer for Aquarius.

Along The Fool’s journey through the Major Arcana, this is a card of closure. You have fulfilled your purpose and goal.

Now it’s time to start another one. Sometimes that means beginning again with The Fool and traveling through the Major Arcana, either learning a new lesson or experiencing the same lesson at a deeper level.

And, sometimes, it means going on an adventure! This is a great card if you are want to take a long trip or relocate to another location. All signs are positive for your new adventure.

The World Tarot Card Meaning for Love

If you are in a long-distance relationship, consider relocating to be with your love. You might have to make the move (not them). It will absolutely be worth it!

If you are in a relationship with problems, you may have gone as far as you can with your current relationship or situation. You’ve reached the peak!

This may be good or bad news depending on your desires, but it’s unlikely to change. You have completed a major life lesson and closure is coming.

If you are looking for a new relationship, you are ready to put yourself out there. Specifically, hang out in the places where you will find the type of partner you want to have.

If you’re looking for someone who loves to travel, start traveling. If you want a family-focused partner, hang out with your friends who have kids. And if you’re looking for someone athletic, start participating in the sports and activities you enjoy.

The World Tarot Card Meanings for Work

You have reached the end of the road as far as your current position. You’ve learned everything you can and it’s time to move on.

This might mean you need to leave your job or sell your business. But it could also mean you need to seek out new responsibilities, different types of projects, or clients who are more in line with your interests.

When it comes to this change, think as big as you can and then think even bigger.

If you are looking for a promotion, advancement, or even an overseas assignment, this is the time to ask for what you want. You’ll probably get it!

The World Tarot Card Meanings for Health

You need to challenge your body in new ways. What used to work for you is not working any longer.

Maybe you’ve gotten older and your metabolism is junk. Maybe you’ve plateaued on your weight loss or athletic training. Whatever your situation, you will have to try a new path.

But first, give credit to yourself for making it this far.

Mourn what you’ve lost, if you must. Then start experimenting and exploring to find the new actions that work for you. This is a grand new adventure and you will find success.

The World Tarot Card Meanings for Money and Finances

Congratulations! You are very close to reaching your financial goals.

Keep up the good work and don’t go crazy. But it looks like you’ll soon be celebrating, perhaps with a nice vacation to someplace overseas?

The World is an adventurous card, so take some risks with your money. (Only the money you can afford to lose, of course!)

This isn’t about trying to win the lottery or playing high-stakes poker. Instead, invest your money in the dreams of your friends, family, and community. You may not make huge financial returns, but you will be able to create real change in the world you live in.

The World Tarot Card Meaning for Spiritual Guidance

The Major Arcana is a cycle. As soon as you learn one life’s lesson, you are right back to being The Fool.

It may feel like you have reached “heaven on earth” and are ready to rest on your laurels, but this is only a resting place. If you stay stuck here, you will become bitter, dissatisfied, and stagnant.

After you rest, celebrate, and honor your achievements, you must move on to the next goal or challenge you’ve set for yourself. Life is a continuous cycle of learning, change, growth, evolution, and transformation.

You will continue to cycle through the cards as you dive deeper into the person you are meant to become. Each time you work your way through the Major Arcana’s cycle, you will be creating (and re-creating) the world you want to live in, in your own image.
